Dr Brian Hawkett (PhD in emulsion polymerisation from Sydney University) liaises between industry and KCPC and manages contract research for and collaborative projects with industry partners. Since obtaining his PhD in 1980 Brian spent 8 years as an R&D manager with Berger and British paints. This was followed by time in the ICI group in Dulux, Specialty Chemicals, Kemrez and Valchem. Prior to joining KCPC Brian was Technical manager for a small contract R&D company (Daratech) working in the area of controlled release and special purpose agrochemical formulations. He has also worked as an independent consultant on polymerisation and pigment dispersion.
